Dr. Arif Karim, born and raised in Houston.
Dr. Arif Karim, earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin before receiving his doctor of dental surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry in San Antonio in 2017. During his time as a dental student, Dr. Karim demonstrated leadership and research skills, becoming the first student from his school to conduct dental research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, DC.
After acquiring his dental degree, Dr. Karim completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Oklahoma, treating complex cases in all facets of dentistry. He was immediately drawn to the field of endodontics and the ability to relieve the severe pain that a diseased tooth can cause and to help patients return quickly to comfort and function. After practicing general dentistry for two years, he decided to pursue this passion by returning to specialty training and completing an endodontic residency program at University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2022. Afterwards, he spent 4 years providing care as an endodontist to the Austin community.
Dr. Karim’s treatment philosophy focuses on educating his patients about their dental concerns while delivering the highest standard of endodontic care to ensure complete comfort. He understands that endodontic procedures can be stressful, so he prioritizes patient education and preparation to help reduce anxiety. Additionally, Dr. Karim offers various sedation options to assist patients who experience dental phobia.
Dr. Karim is an active member of both the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and the Texas Dental Association (TDA). In his free time, Dr. Karim enjoys playing the electric guitar, cooking, hiking, and traveling the world.
